What is Spedra?

Spedra is a new medication treatment for men with erectile dysfunction. This medication is categorised as a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. The active ingredient for this medication is Avanafil.

How does it Work?

This medication works, just like other PDE5 inhibitors, by letting the muscle of the penis relax for longer, which in turn causes more blood to flow to the muscle. The flow of blood is the reason why the man experiences a stronger erection. Here’s more details on how the relaxation is actually accomplished: after sexual arousal, the penis releases cyclic guanosine monosphate (cGMP). However, these are cyclically eventually broken down to guanosine triphosphate (GTP). The enzymes that break down these substances are called PDE-5. Erectile dysfunction is mainly caused by the scarcity of cGMP. Hence, PDE-5 inhibitors target the enzymes that break down cGMP to GTP and stop this process causing the following series of reactions: more relaxation causes more blood flow; more blood flow causes a stronger erection.

Why should I consider Spedra?

First of all, you should only considered Spedra if you are a man and you think you might have erectile dysfunction. If that is the case, you should first talk to your doctor about PDE-5 inhibitors treatments and all the other options available. Spedra may be considered because of its fast effectiveness: in fact, the pill can be taken only 30 minutes before sexual arousal to take effect. Patients from clinical trials reported to be able to have satisfactory sexual activity within as little as 15 minutes. Furthermore less side effects that are often common when taking Viagra, such as hearing loss or vision loss, were reported by taking Spedra. This is why the medication is considered the “first next-generation” of PDE-5 inhibitors..
